About Boomslang Backpacks
We make Personal Contents Handling Systems (a.k.a. backpacks) for people who want a simple and functional product, preferably from a brand they feel a connection to. We all need to carry stuff, so we may as well do it with a product we love, like that 90s playlist you unapologetically have on repeat or the sticker-covered old laptop you refuse to part with (each backpack ship with two free prismatic and holographic stickers, by the way).
Our mission isn’t to innovate for the sake of it or pretend to be something we’re not. No flashy promises. No over-the top hype. Not even a brand name with a deep meaning (a boomslang is a highly venomous colubrid snake native to Sub-Saharan Africa.) What we do care about is building this thing alongside the people who buy it. Your feedback shapes what we make next, your photos end up on our feed, and the whole point is that this feels less like a company and more like a group chat that happens to sell backpacks. If that sounds like your kind of thing, you're in the right place, and we hope you join the ride.
For no particularly good reason, we’ll end this section with one of our favourite movie quotes:
John Hammond: “All major theme parks have delays. When they opened Disneyland in 1956, nothing worked!”
Dr. Ian Malcolm: “Yeah, but, John, if The Pirates of the Caribbean breaks down, the pirates don't eat the tourists.”
Jurassic Park, 1993
